Every Day Faith: A Friday Prayer

· Every Day Faith

Not because it's Friday (even though, yes, it is), but because I prayed this on a Friday.

I lean not on my own understanding
(Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.")

I listen to the Helper who guides me into all the truth
(John 16:13 "When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth.")

I seek your ways and your thoughts to make them my ways and my thoughts
(Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.")

I forgive all that is done against me just as you forgive me (Matthew 6:12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.)

I believe with all my heart your fulfillment of my requests
(Mark 11:23 "Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.")

In all my ways I acknowledge you and you make my path straight
(Proverbs 3:6 "In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.")

You are Adonai, Elohim, Abba (Sovereign, Powerful, Daddy)

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me bless your holy name!
(Psalms 103:1 "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!")
