Every Day Faith: Day Three (Seek, Abide, Believe, Bless)

The secret formula: Seek, Abide, Believe, Bless

· Every Day Faith

“Your Kingdom Come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread…”

This is the whole part about asking for God's way in the world and in our lives, and truly BELIEVING that everything is possible with God. Because tell me why anything should come to be if you don't actually believe it. Words have always mattered. God spoke the world into existence with words. Your words are powerful. Especially as an heir to the inheritance of God. Which you are if you have said yes to God and Jesus' covering of your sins. Getting our words under control is a study in and of itself so we're just gonna focus on this second step of prayer and get back to the power of our words another time.

The formula: Seek, Abide, Believe, Bless

Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Seek: to search for.

John15:7
“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
Abide: to act in accordance with.

Mark 11:23
"Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."
Believe: there is nothing about praying a request a whole bunch of times. However, not doubting and believing are addressed twice. Also, please note that FORGIVENESS OF OTHERS is a prerequisite. (Forgiveness is on day five.)

Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your path straight.”
Trust: belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of.

Matthew 19:26
"But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Believe: ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. No some things. Not the things you think you're worthy of. Not just the things your pastor asks for. Not the things you try to earn through being perfect. ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD.

Summary and Action

My job is to seek God, abide in him, and believe that everything is possible with God, so He can bless me with my best life.

It’s the healthiest possible cycle. The more we know him (abide!) the more he changes our hearts so we act more and more in line with what he wants for us so he is able to give us his best so that we learn to trust him more and more.

The Prayer: "I am here to talk to you Lord; here to know you and your love before and above anything else. Let everything in my life come second to you. I bring everything in my heart to you Lord. My desires for me, for my family, my loved ones, our nation, our leaders, even my enemies. I ask for the desires of my hearts to change to look like your desires for me. I am open to you Holy Spirit. Teach me to pray not with my own understanding, but let the Holy Spirit speak for me to bring it all to you, Dad.”

Remember: all these scripture are here for you to use in prayer if you don't already have a loaded arsenal handy. Hence the whole cheat sheet idea.
