If there is no practice you begin other than healing you will be blessed by discovering the heart full of love your Creator has for you. Because love, perfect love, is what heals and brings life. The decision to set your heart to healing is manifold. Not only will it make you whole, but it will root out joy-stealing resentment and bitterness.
Healing is promised. No matter how many paper cuts, knife wounds, burns, and scars are on your spirit they can be soothed and made peaceful. Healing isn't always easy. Sometimes it's a lot of work.
The process looks different for everyone, and even changes depending on our season of life.
Sometimes it looks like lots of meditation, yoga, and solo hikes. Sometimes it looks like years of counseling. Sometimes it looks like ice cream with your best friend. Sometimes it looks like a dog. But planting these scriptures in your heart is a guaranteed step toward healing because His word never returns void. (Isaiah 55:11)
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
"You're exhausted from carrying so many burdens. Come to me. I'll give you relief."
"I will restore to you the years
that the swarming locust has eaten,
the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter,
my great army, which I sent among you.
You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
and praise the name of the Lord your God,
who has dealt wondrously with you.
And my people shall never again be put to shame."
"All those years of loss, pain, and want. Never again will you have that with me. You'll always have more than enough and you will be safe."
"For I will restore health to you,
and your wounds I will heal,
declares the Lord."
"I publicly proclaim that you will be made whole and your pain will fade!"
"Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion;
instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot;
therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion;
they shall have everlasting joy."
"All those awful feelings will be washed away by an overflowing amount of joy."
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
"I made you. I love you. I have a lovely future for you!"
"But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint."
"I give you the strength to always go on. I make your aching heart feel young again. I breath fresh life into you."
